Funeral Services For James Arlis Bilbrey, Age 90, Of Cookeville, Tennessee, And Formerly Of Monterey, Tennessee, Were Conducted On Thursday, November 11, 2021, At 3:00 PM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Nolan Cantrell And Rev. Jim Rogers Officiated And Interment Followed In The Pleasant Ridge Cemetery With Full Military Honors Provided By The Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Bilbrey Was Born On Monday, May 18, 1931, In Monterey, Tennessee, To The Late Boyd And Vira Blaylock Bilbrey. Mr. Bilbrey Passed Away On Sunday, November 7, 2021, At Cedar Hills Senior Living Community. Mr. Bilbrey Was Forever A Marine, Having Served During The Korean Conflict. He Was A Welder By Trade And Taught Welding For Many Years At Livingston Area Vocational Technical School (Now TCAT). He Was A Long-Time Member Of Pleasant Ridge Church Serving As Sunday School Superintendent And Teacher. He Was Ingenious And Creative. If He Needed A Tool Or Gadget, He Rigged One Up Or Altered Another One. He Liked To Fish When He Was Able. He Loved God, His Family, Louis L’Amour And UT Vols. He Was Literally In Love With The Staff At Cedar Hills Senior Living Community, As Well As His Resident Friends That Filled His Last Years With Love And Laughter. Our Family Will Be Forever Grateful For Their Love And Devotion. He Was Survived By, Daughters And Sons-In-Law, Nina And George Scott Of Cookeville, TN, Sandra And Garry Brazle Of Gainesboro, TN, Gary Phillips Of Monterey, TN; Grandchildren, Matt Phillips (Chrystal), Lori Phillips, Spencer Scott (Alexis), Jamie Adcock, Clay Adcock (Brandi), Elliott Scott (Kara); Great Grandchildren, James, Haley, Ella, Cate, Scarlett, And Blair; And Sister, Clara Dean West Of Anderson, IN. In Addition To His Parents, He Was Preceded In Death By His Wife Of 63 Years, Ella Norrod Bilbrey; Daughter, Cathy Ann Phillips; Granddaughter, Amanda Phillips; Sister, Gladys Qualls; And Brother, Arthur Beecher Bilbrey.
