Carlene "Granny" Boles

Funeral Services for Carlene “Granny” Boles, age 92, of the Sandy Community, were conducted on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 4:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Brother Greg Jenkins officiated and interment followed in the Honey Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Boles was born on Sunday, April 30, 1933, in White County, Tennessee, to the late Hugh Jacob and Laura Mae Randolph Lewis. Mrs. Boles passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Boles began her working career working alongside her mother at Chancey McDonald’s Variety Store weighing coal. She was a sub at the United States Post Office in Wilder and worked with Flip Co-Op Store. She worked with L.B.J.& C. for 20 plus years starting as a caseworker in Jamestown and ending with the Head Start Program serving as a cook and bus driver. She loved cooking and found great pleasure in feeding others and especially her mailman daily. She loved her family with an unmatched love and cared for them to the end of her life. She loved her friends and had friendships that lasted the test of times. She enjoyed her last years living at Heritage Pointe where she made many friends and enjoyed their group activities and helping to cook meals. She was Baptist in faith. She was survived by her daughter, Carolyn Looper of Lovejoy, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Robin Boles of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) Looper, Corey (Cynthia) Looper, Jessica (Wes) Phillips, Laura Beth Boles, Hattie Grace Potter, and Joseph Harding Potter; great grandchildren, Alaz (Summer) Looper, Heather Looper, Hunter Looper, Arrow Looper, Carson Looper, Clara Looper, Audrey Phillips, Braylinn Boles, and Alli Phillips; great great grandchildren, Zala and Silas Looper; brothers, Dude Lewis of Chicago, IL, Wayne Lewis of the Brotherton Community; and a host of special friends, nieces and nephews, and other family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Savage Boles Jr.; son-in-law, Stanley Looper; brothers, FL, Bid, Tink, and Paul Lewis; sisters-in-law, Chris Lewis, Genieve Lewis, Evelyn Lewis, and Helen Lewis. Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Looper, Jason Looper, Steve McDonald, Billy Joe Wilson, Mike Looper, Bruce Lee, Phillip Horst, and Darrell Lewis. The family received friends at Goff Funeral Home on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 2:00 PM until time of services at 4:00 PM. Arrangements and Care provided by D.M.
